KBR Park Flyover project has gone through a major change. The earlier plan proposed seven flyovers and seven underpasses around KBR Park under the H-CITI project.

However, in September 2026, the Telangana government decided to scrap the larger 14-structure plan and asked GHMC to prepare a fresh proposal for one flyover/elevated corridor. The exact location and alignment are still being worked out.

What Is the KBR Park Flyover?

The KBR Park flyover is a proposed elevated road connection intended to improve traffic flow around the busy roads surrounding KBR National Park.

The original H-CITI proposal was designed to create largely signal-free traffic movement around key junctions near the park. It included multiple flyovers, underpasses and road-widening works.

The latest proposal is different. Instead of constructing all 14 planned structures, GHMC is now working on a single flyover/elevated corridor. The final route, starting point and ending point have not yet been officially finalised.

Why Is a Flyover Planned Around KBR Park?

KBR Park is located in a busy part of Hyderabad, surrounded by important roads connecting Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Film Nagar, Madhapur and other major commercial areas.

The roads around the park experience significant traffic movement during peak hours. The proposed elevated infrastructure is intended to provide smoother movement through major junctions and reduce traffic conflicts at ground level.

Earlier KBR Park Flyover and Underpass Plan

The earlier H-CITI proposal included seven steel flyovers and seven underpasses at key junctions around KBR Park.

The estimated cost of the overall infrastructure works was around โ‚น1,090 crore, with completion targeted for December 2028 under the earlier plan.

The planned locations included:

  • Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction
  • KBR Park Entrance Junction
  • Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 Junction
  • Film Nagar Junction
  • Maharaja Agrasen Island Junction
  • Indo-American Cancer Hospital Junction
  • Mugdha Traffic Junction

The earlier proposal was designed to provide grade-separated traffic movement at these locations.

Conclusion

The KBR Park flyover is part of Hyderabad's efforts to improve traffic movement around one of the city's busiest road corridors.

The project was originally planned on a much larger scale, with seven flyovers and seven underpasses under H-CITI. However, that plan has now been scrapped. GHMC is working on a new proposal involving a single flyover or elevated corridor.
